Sewing Studio!

This weekend I hope to finally get going on the garage sewing studio where Tanya and I will finally get to work and make all of the things we've had piling up and the things we've been dreaming of working on for the last...ummm...year or so now? Eek. I'm excited and eager to get going. I cleaned and tossed and recycled a huge pile of stuff last night and hope to move on to decorating and furnishing this weekend. Then I will tackle the air conditioning issue. I think portable may be the way to go, but I'll have to see...For now here are a few inspirational photos. House of Space will ride again!

This one's more of a whimsical thought, but I kinda of want to stay away from the clutter I always lean towards and go more modern and clean-lined.

This is the color we are thinking. Something cool and soothing and suitable to shoot items up against. I think Martha Stewart has a Robin's Egg Blue that is lovely.

Just a few other ideas we can spin off of. I love the last one the best but our roof is not nearly as high, so we're gonna have to work to keep it spacious in there. We definitely are going to need to add some better, brighter lighting. I think we'll go stir crazy with the florescent monstrosity that's in there now. Until we get to work on new items, I'm keeping up with the Spacehouse Etsy: I'm trying to post every week, god knows I have enough stuff to do so. For now, I'm excited to get things going again after a crazy haitus! xxxooo shannon

i have definitely neglected this thing. i just saw a comment from 2009 on my only post from 2008! hahahaha! well maybe i'll try again.
finally getting my studio space in order (while making a giant mess working on things) and i've been finding all of the things i've been hoarding/collecting over the past couple of years. so much cool stuff, it's inspiring and daunting at the same time.
there is one new thing that is a giant push back into sewing my own stuff for etsy or other venues and that being that i just bought the cutest ankle boots from aldo. they are called "hoppins" which makes me like them that much more.
they are awesome.
they fit perfectly.
they don't go with anything i wear.
well now's the time to alter all those dresses i've been meaning on altering, make some cute skirts out of this upholstery stuff i've been dying to use. fall is here and i definitely need to get to work or i'll never get to wear those damn cute things.

and end up with what i've been working towards (in my head anyway) for some time now. it's some hair-brained scheme i hope to pull of within the next few months and it seems like there's no better time than now. now or never. gonna kick it up a notch or twelve and get this thing figured out once and for all.
